TRANSFORMING A HISTORIC CAMPUS FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE:
ARCHITECT MAGAZINE’s February edition features Washington University’s East End Transformation. Our work included collaboration on a comprehensive Masterplan for the East End and the design of the new Jubel Hall (in association with Mackey MItchell). The 80,000 square foot building houses the School of Engineering and Applied Science’s Department of Mechanical Engineering & Material Sciences (MEMS). The building is designed to support a heightened level of interaction and to address societal needs in medicine, health, and the environment. Moore Ruble Yudell is closely monitoring the CDC and other information sources and planning for the evolving COVID-19 situation.  Our primary concern is for the health, safety, and wellness of our staff, their families, our clients and the broader community in which we thrive.

The intent of this communication is to outline the specific steps that we are taking to responsibly safeguard our employees and continue to serve the needs of our clients in this rapidly changing environment.

The key policies and procedures that we are implementing include:

  • Provide continuous information and education to our employees, based on CDC guidelines, about best practices to help prevent the transmission of communicable diseases such as COVID-19.
  • Implement social distancing measures and encourage alternatives to handshaking.
  • Temporarily cancel all non-essential work travel and utilize audio and web-based conferencing in lieu of face-to-face meetings where possible.
  • Encourage all employees to avoid personal travel and large gatherings.
  • Require potentially sick employees to remain out of the office until cleared to return to work.
  • Support flexible work policies in conjunction with State of California guidelines.
  • Expand our work-at-home policy so all project teams can remain effective while working remotely.
  • Explore opportunities for innovation through technology in support of our work with our clients and teams.

We will continue to monitor and evaluate the impacts of COVID-19 and will adjust our procedures to addresses changes as they develop.
