Nozomu Sugawara
Nozomu Sugawara came to the United States from his native Japan to study at the University of Houston, where he received a Bachelor of Architecture, cum laude from the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture. While working for Houston-based firms on various civic and cultural projects, as well as conceptual projects and competitions, he continued his international studies with programs at the Applied Arts University in Vienna with Wolf Prix (Coophimelblau) and at the Center for the Study of Architecture and Urbanism in Saintes, France.
Nozomu earned a Master of Architecture and Urban Design degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. He joined Moore Ruble Yudell shortly after graduation, where he has since worked on such diverse projects as Chun Sen Bi An housing in China, the French Family Science Center at Duke University, and the sustainability-based Santa Monica Parking Structure in Santa Monica, California.
